The History
TFT - Sno Trac is a 21st century iteration of Aktiv Snow Trac, a snow machine designed mid 1950’s in Sweden by Lars Larsson, chief design engineer for Swedish farm equipment manufacturing company AB Westrasmaskiner. Larsson designed the original Snow Trac to access a cabin he owned with his brother during the winter snow season. A tracked design, it was powered by a Volkswagen engine driving thru a Volkswagen transaxle. For ease of operation and control, Larsson designed a steering system he named “Variator”; this system allowed Snow Trac’s steering function to be controlled by a conventional steering wheel.
