 The Route We Use 

Every Sno Trac headed north follows the same three-leg path from our shop in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to a dock in Anchorage.

  1. Hot-Shot to Seattle: Your machine leaves the Idaho shop on a dedicated hot-shot trailer bound for the Seattle terminal.
  2. Barge to Anchorage: From Seattle, it travels north by marine barge. That's the standard, most economical way freight moves to Alaska.
  3. Arrival & Pickup: The barge lands in Anchorage, where your Sno Trac is ready for pickup at the dock.
  4. On to Your Property: From Anchorage, you can drive it out yourself or arrange onward transport. We're glad to help you sort that out too.

What It Costs

Every shipment is quoted on its own, but this is the range recent Alaska deliveries have actually run.

$9,000–$11,000  all-in, door to Anchorage dock, on average

This covers hot-shot trucking to Seattle, barge freight to Anchorage, and our team's handling of the logistics in between. It's a planning number, not a quote, since barge schedules, fuel
surcharges, and the season all move it up or down. We'll confirm your actual cost and route before anything ships, depending on exactly where your machine is headed.

No, it's a planning range based on recent shipments and is subject to fluctuation. Carrier rates, fuel surcharges, and barge schedules shift throughout the season, so we confirm an actual number for your order before you pay for shipping.

How long does shipping take?

It depends on barge sailing schedules out of Seattle, which run on their own cadence. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we know when your Sno Trac is ready to ship.

Do I arrange the trucking and barge myself?

No, we coordinate both legs and the paperwork between them, and shipping is billed through us as part of your order. One point of contact, start to finish.
